Actor Yami Gautam and her filmmaker husband Aditya Dhar announced that the couple is expecting their first child. The couple made the announcement at the trailer launch of their film Article 370.
“My brother was there, my wife was there and there is a baby on its way. It was an amazing time, the way the film happened and the way we got to know about the baby,” Dhar said, PTI reported.
The couple tied the knot three years ago. Speculations about her pregnancy started doing the rounds after in recent appearances, the actor was seen hiding a protruding belly. Dhar last directed Uri: The Surgical Strike, featuring Vicky Kaushal. The movie made more than Rs 200 crores at the box office and also won Dhar a Filmfare in the best debutant director category.
Gautam, known for movies like Kaabil and Vicky Donor, was last seen in OMG 2 alongside Akshay Kumar and will soon be seen in Article 370, which also stars Priyamani and Arun Govil. The movie is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya and Lokesh Dhar.
Praising her husband for always being there by her side, she said, “If you ask me about motherhood, I really don’t know what I would have done had Aditya not been there by my side, and Lokesh bhaiya (brother-in-law) and everybody.” Talking about shooting while pregnant, she said, “It was mentally draining. I could write a thesis on it. There are so many questions, the firsts are always challenging.”
