After Singham Again failed to roar as expected at the box office, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has shifted gears. And this time, he’s turned a former villain into a cop. Yes, the intense and action-packed John Abraham, who shook audiences as the villain in Pathaan, is now donning the uniform in Shetty’s next.

A scene from the upcoming film was recently leaked, generating buzz. But what’s even more surprising is John Abraham’s take on OTT, which he’s clearly not a fan of—despite his recent release The Diplomat premiering on a digital platform.

John Abraham: Why He’s Kicking OTT to the Curb

While most stars are diving into OTT series, John Abraham is going against the tide. Here’s what he had to say:

“OTT requires a massive office setup and a large team working constantly. When you earn from OTT, a huge chunk goes into overheads. That doesn’t make sense to me.”

John believes the effort-to-reward ratio just isn’t worth it for him when it comes to web series. He added that although he’s open to producing a quality OTT series, he’s not keen on acting in one unless it’s truly compelling.

So, while his recent OTT film The Diplomat got positive feedback, it hasn’t changed his overall perspective on the platform.

Rohit Shetty + John Abraham = Cop Drama Reloaded

John is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s biopic based on Rakesh Maria, the celebrated former Mumbai Police Commissioner. The shoot has kicked off in Mumbai, and a leaked look has already sparked curiosity. Unlike his villainous turns, this time John is set to clean up the streets, not rule them.
