Vivek Oberoi has consistently spoken about the challenges he has faced in his personal life and acting career. After talking about his entrepreneurial journey, he recalls going through tough times and receiving threats. In an interview, Vivek Oberoi disclosed facing underworld threats due to ‘powerful people’ in Bollywood.
Even though he had successful movies, he struggled to find work and faced public shame. In an interview with ABP, he said, “In my case, the intensity was overwhelming. I faced trolling, public humiliation, and professional sabotage. Projects were snatched away from me after I signed them, and I received threats from the underworld. The police had to provide me with an armed guard and a gun. Things went that extreme. One’s peace of mind can become zero in such situations. I was still ok as I had an armed guard, but what about my mother, sister and father? I was constantly worried about their safety.”
He then shared how he coped with the rough patch in his life by refusing to give up. “You get so psyched that it starts affecting your work, how do you concentrate on work and perform? It becomes impossible to focus. So, you start getting into a downward spiral, and things become bad. So, at some point, you have to square the slate and say, ‘Enough, now I have to remove this from my system and focus and concentrate…,’” Vivek concluded.
On the work front, Vivek Oberoi was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force series, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. His character received positive response from all corners. After the release, the actor went to Dubai to manage his business.
