It was in 2007 when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor teamed up for Jab We Met and delivered an iconic film. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Jabe We Met emerged as a cult classic. It is loved even after more than a decade. As per reports, the Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer film is making rounds on the internet for a sequel.
Is Jab We Met 2 on cards?
Now, there has been an update on the reports of the Jab We Met sequel. In an interview with Times Now, Raj Mehta, the owner of Ashtavinayak, confirmed the plan of bringing out a sequel. He also said that the film would be produced under the banner of Gandhar Films.
Though the anticipation for a possible sequel may be high, there has been no official confirmation of the same. Neither the script nor the shoot date has been locked. Additionally, the cast of the film has not been decided too. Given the fact that Jab We Met is still loved even today, we wonder if Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan might reunite for the sequel.
Speaking about the sequel, Shahid Kapoor had earlier stated in an interview that, “It really depends on the quality of that script. So if there is a script that demands a sequel and I feel it is the kind of script that you read and say ‘man this will be better than the original this can match up to the original’ I would do it but if I feel it’s not and I’m just trying to use the brand value of the original thing to do then I feel that that ‘why are you doing it, don’t do it’.”
Speaking of Kareena and Shahid, the two were in a relationship for a brief time. They came together in 2003 and parted ways in 2007. After Jab We Met, the two were also seen in Udta Punjab and Milenge Milenge.
