IPL 2025 is now in its final stage. Out of its 10 teams, 3 have qualified for the playoffs while 4 are out of the race. Now there is a competition between the Mumbai Indians, the Delhi Capitals, and the Lucknow Supergiants to become the fourth team in the playoffs. While talking about the chances of Lucknow Supergiants, Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina especially discussed Rishabh Pant. Both the players believed that if LGC had to qualify for the playoffs, then Pant would have to play well.
The team of Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday. SRH is out of the playoff race after losing its 7 matches. LSG has won 5 out of 11 matches and remains in this race with 10 points. However, LSG’s playoff hopes will remain alive only if it wins all three matches. Even after this, it may have to depend on the equation of other teams.
While talking about the prospects of the Lucknow Supergiants, Suresh Raina drew attention to the performance of Rishabh Pant. He said in the post-match show on Star Sports that Pant has got Rs 27 crore in the auction. He has to score runs. Suresh Raina said, ‘Pant should score runs. He should score runs for the pride and honour of Lucknow. It is a very lovely city.’ On this, Virender Sehwag immediately said, ‘I wish! Performance could be bought by paying money…’
Lucknow Supergiants had placed a bid of 27 crores on Rishabh Pant in the IPL auction. With this, Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history. However, he has not been able to fulfill this trust of LSG till now. LSG captain Rishabh Pant has been able to score only 128 runs in 11 matches this season. His strike rate is less than 100. From this, it can be guessed how colorless Pant is this season.
