Rumours are circulating that Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Singham Again might be delayed by two weeks. As per media reports, the delay of the Ajay Devgn starrer is to avoid a clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office. The two films were initially scheduled to release on Diwali. As per reports, Aaryan – who will reprise his role as Rooh Baba, has reportedly made a plea to Shetty to change the release date. Read on to know the scoop.
Stating that Kartik has approached Rohit to postpone the release of the Ajay Devgn-led cop drama, a source informed Times Now, “Kartik Aaryan reportedly called Rohit Shetty and made him a request to postpone the release of Singham 3. While Kartik intends to release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on 1st November, he has made a request to Rohit Shetty to release Singham 3 on 15th November. Kartik said a two-week gap can help both celebrities have a good opening for their movies, instead of clashing at the box office which will affect both the movies’ collections. Rohit Shetty has heard him out over the call and told him, that he will get back to him.”
Talking about a possible release date change for Singham Again, another insider told Bollywood Hungama, “Horror comedies are the flavour of the season post the release of Stree 2, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is something that can’t be taken lightly at this point in time. Singham Again team is looking at a possible solo release on November 15, rather than indulging in a clash on November 1.”
“Singham Again is a mega-budget film and the makers are weighing the pros and cons before taking a final call. There is an analysis going on to determine the pros and cons of the November 1 V/s November 15 release. A final call on the release date will be taken in the next 24 hours. Is that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be a competitor today due to horror comedies being the talk of the town? If Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao can do Rs. 600 crores, then the sky is the limit for a much bigger franchise with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri,” the source added.
