Ever since Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana was announced, the hype surrounding the Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi co-starred is only increasing. While the film still makes the headlines owing to its casting, a new report has surfaced online with regards to RK’s roles in the film and Amitabh Bachchan joining the cast. Yes, you read that right.
Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play dual roles in Ramayana while Amitabh Bachchan has joined the cast as a voice-over artist. Read on to know the details.
As per a recent Peepingmoon.com report, Ranbir Kapoor is set to play dual roles in Ramayana. Talking about RK playing two avatars of Lord Vishnu, a source told the portal, “In the Ramayana, Parashuram had a conflict with Ram after Shiva’s bow, Pinaka, was broken. He challenges Ram to bend Vishnu’s bow, and upon witnessing Ram succeed, he acknowledges Ram as an incarnation of Vishnu and retreats to his penance. Although Parashuram’s role in the epic is brief, it holds significant importance, and the filmmakers have ensured it reflects that. Ranbir will have a completely distinct and unrecognizable look as Parashuram.”
Talking about Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the upcoming two-part mythological saga, the source revealed the actor will only be lending his voice. As per the report, the veteran actor will not appear physically in the film but will lend his voice to the divine bird Jatayu. For the unversed, Jatayu loses his wings and life during a confrontation with Ravana while attempting to rescue Goddess Sita following her abduction. Although it’s a cameo, the filmmakers have scanned Bachchan’s eyes for VFX purposes to further enhance Jatayu’s portrayal.
