Rajeev Khandelwal has been in the industry for over 2 decades and people still remember him as Sujal from the TV show Kahiin To Hoga. He is currently gearing up for the release of web-series Showtime in which he essays the role of a popular Superstar. The series aims to highlight how movie stars grapple with fame, internal politics, and dark secrets. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Rajeev admits that he believes the Bollywood industry is a soft target and the reason behind it is the constant limelight.
During the chat, we asked the actor how the Bollywood industry gets easily offended when a comment is passed on them. Reacting to it, Rajeev says, “The industry is being targeted. It’s like a soft target. I think the industry gets a lot of people a lot of limelight is why the industry is targeted. You just blame people from the industry and it just gets picked up and it becomes the hot thing that happens. It’s because they would not be showing the other issues in the country, but probably they would highlight what a star has said or what a producer remarked. So if the industry gets you a lot of limelight is why you kind of get dragged into it.”
Talking about Showtime, apart from Rajeev Khandelwal it stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead. The show also features Mouni Roy, Mahima Makwana, Naseeruddin Shah, and Shriya Saran in key roles. Directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, Showtime will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8.
