‘The Kerala Story’ director Sudipto Sen also indicated that once everyone had seen the movie, they would all come out and address the alleged numbers.
‘The Kerala Story’ is already familiar with its main points to everyone. Adah Sharma plays one of the victims from Kerala who was made to convert and join ISIS in the movie’s key part. In the film’s description, ‘The Kerala Story’ asserted that over 32,000 girls had converted to Islam and joined ISIS.
Later, after receiving criticism about the numbers, the makers modified the description from 32000 to 3, and director Sudipto Sen indicated that once everyone had seen the movie, they would all come out and address the alleged numbers.
Following the success of ‘The Kerela Story,’ producer Vipul Shah held a press conference where he addressed the debate around the girls’ numbers that were originally stated in the movie’s synopsis but were later adjusted.
A few actual victims were present at the news briefing to highlight their Vipul clarified the dispute over the 32000 figure and remarked, “26 ladkiyan yaha hain, aur aur abhi inhone khud kaha, 7000 number ek sanstha ka hain. Toh mujhe lagta hain ab ye 32,000 ya 3, hum sab sai crore ladkiyon se khud mil chukey hain. Toh 3 ke number ki toh koi baat hi nahi thi. Hamare film 3 ladkiyon ki kahaani leke batati hain, isiliye wo 3 ka number hain. 3 ke number ka actual jo ho raha hain use Kerala ka koi vaasta nahi hain. Ye kahaani 3 ladkiyon ke kahaani ke through in hazaaron ladkiyon ki kahaani aap tak leke aayi hain”.
Vipul Shah also added, “7000 ka number inhone kaha par aise bahut se aakhron ko leke hum bohot jald hi aenge aur saara khulasa karenge, 32,000 ka bhi. Uske baad main dekhna chahta hoon ki jin logo ne hamein criticise kiya, kya wo apna rukh badalte gaub? Lekin wo hamare bare mein kya sochte hain isse hamein koi farq nahi padta. Aap inn ladkiyon ki ladai ko weak mat kariye, inke sath anyaye mat kariye. That is our request and that is what we want to see.”
At least 7,000 girls have been converted and joined the terrorist group ISIS, according to the victims who attended the news conference. They are not disparaging any particular faith or causing damage anyone’s religious feelings because ‘The Kerela Story’ is the same story throughout. In just 12 days since its debut, the movie has made more than Rs 150 crore, and it is currently unstoppable at the box office.
