Poonam, Dhillon is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood. Recently, Poonam’s daughter Paloma Dhillon made her Bollywood debut opposite Sunny Deol’s son Rajveer Deol in Dono. The romantic film was jointly produced by Sooraj Barjatya’s Rajshri Productions and Jio Studios. Now, Poonam Dhillon along with her daughter Paloma joined Bollywood Bubble for a fun and candid conversation.
Poonam Dhillon recalls rejecting a Rajshri Productions film
Talking about Poonam, in particular, she recalled rejecting a Rajshri film for Trishul during her initial career days. The actress also mentioned that she regrets turning down the film. Poonam said, “Surprisingly, I was offered work by Rajshri when I was just starting my career and that time Tarachand (Barjatya) was there, the doyenne of Rajshri film. And somehow because Trishul was just starting and Gulshan Rai, who was the producer of Trishul, told me ‘Iss time pe abhi tum karoge toh aage Trishul will get impacted’. Rajshri people even that time used to make quick films, start to finish types. For some reason, I missed out working with them.”
The actress added, “I feel very regretful because they made beautiful films.”

When asked how she feels now that her daughter has made her big Bollywood debut with Dono produced by Rajshri, Poonam said, “I think they’ve presented her so beautifully. And I must say, when the time came for her final selection, she’s doing a Rajshri film, as a mother I was so relaxed. Yeh achi company hai.” Furthermore, she praised their work ethics and added that she has huge respect for them.
In Trishul, Poonam shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, and Rakhee Gulzar.
Over the years, Poonam has appeared in films like Sohni Mohiwal, Noorie, Yeh Vaada Raha, Teri Meheribaniyan, and Kasam among others.
