Malayalam superstar Mammootty took to social media on Thursday to announce his next film Bramayugam. Sharing a poster featuring a haunted mansion, Mammootty said that the films’ shoot begins today.
The film is written and directed by Rahul Sadashivan of Bhoothakalam fame. The film, bankrolled by Night Shift studios will reportedly release in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Mounted on a grand scale, Bramayugam also features Arjun Ashokan and Siddharth Bharathan in pivotal roles.
Writer-director Sadasivan said he was living his dream of ‘directing the stalwart Mammookka’.He said in a statement: “Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages of Kerala, and I am glad to be backed by the producers in pushing the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat to Mammookka’s fans and fans of the genre across the world.”
Producers Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth of Night Shift Studios said: “We are honoured and thrilled to have the legendary Mammookka in our inaugural production. The unparalleled image of Mammookka is set to bring life to what is going to be a spectacular cinematic experience.”
Bramayugam, slated for release next year, will reportedly be shot in Kochi and Ottapalam.
