Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for his antagonist role Varman in Rajinikanth starrer ‘Jailer’, was arrested by Hyderabad police on Saturday allegedly for misbehaving with Hyderabad Airport staff.
According to police, the popular actor was travelling to Goa via Hyderabad and was in an inebriated state. “The actor, who was flying from Kochi to Goa via Hyderabad, allegedly argued and spoke rudely with the gate staff of IndiGo airlines on Saturday,” police said.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station took custody of Vinayakan from CISF, and he was booked under City Police Act. “Yesterday at 6pm, a CISF inspector filed a complaint stating that an IndiGo flight arrived from Kochi to Hyderabad, and a passenger, Vinayak, who was scheduled to travel to Goa on that flight, was in a drunken state and misbehaved with the gate staff,” K. Balaraju, Airport police inspector told ANI. “The CISF handed him over to the RGI Airport Police and we have registered a case under the City Police Act,” he added.
The actor was later released on bail. Vinayakan alleged he was assaulted by CISF personnel. m. “I do not know why I’m being taken into custody. I have done no wrong. The CCTV visuals can be checked for evidence,” Vinayakan told Manorama News. Videos have also emerged showing the actor sitting on the airport floor shirtless.
