IPL 2025 Playoffs Schedule: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has spoiled the game of Gujarat Titans by making the biggest run chase of IPL 2025. RCB won the match on Tuesday by scoring 230 runs in response to Punjab Kings’ 227 runs. With this win, it captured the second position in the points table. With RCB reaching the second position, Gujarat Titans slipped to the third position, and its desire to play the Qualifier-One match was also washed away.
In IPL, the top-4 teams of the points table qualify for the playoffs. The top teams are in a position of advantage in the playoffs. Qualifier One match is played between the top 2 teams. Its winner goes to the final, while the losing team gets a chance to play in Qualifier 2. Qualifier Two is played between the winner of the Eliminator and the losing team of Qualifier One, the winning team becomes the second finalist.
This is the reason that after coming in the top 4 in IPL, the fight for the top 2 begins. RCB has overtaken Gujarat Titans in this fight. If RCB’s team had lost to Punjab Kings, it would have remained in third place. Gujarat Titans with 18 points would have benefited from this. Currently, Punjab Kings and RCB are in first and second place with 19-19 points. Gujarat Titans are third and Mumbai Indians (16) are in fourth place.
