A fresh government statement will send Indians rushing to the banks to cash in their pink note, often known as the Rs 2000 money, after they were in a frenzy on November 8, 2016 to get rid of the Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes they held. The Reserve Bank of India removed bank notes with a face value of Rs 2,000 from circulation some time ago. The RBI has also instructed banks to stop issuing banknotes with a value of Rs 2,000 right away. The notes will continue to be a valid form of payment until September 30, 2023.
