The superhero community has been on pins and needles since the revelation that Hugh Jackman will be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ‘Deadpool’. However, one issue has persisted about his future existence and how the ‘X-Men’ character would fit into the MCU. Breaking the silence, Shawn Levy, the film’s director, had to share additional facts about the Marvel superhero with claws in his hands and confirms that Hugh Jackman would be portraying the same Wolverine we all know and love.
Hugh was last seen in ‘Logan’, and it was stated that he would not be returning the role because his character received a happy ending. It is never the end of a character until Marvel Studios decides otherwise. The reunion of Wolverine and Deadpool had been long awaited, and when the movie starring the duo was revealed, it looked like a dream come true moment. In a chat with BroBible about the film, director Shawn Levy discussed the significance of Wolverine. He emphasised the ‘Deadpool 3’ team’s regard and affection for the James Mangold-directed Logan picture and stated that they would completely respect it, noting that the film is canon and will stay such in the MCU.
Shawn made it obvious that ‘Logan’ is crucial to the narrative of his future film. “I have always said that I can’t wait for Deadpool 3 to come out because all I want to do is give interviews alongside Ryan where we talk about our reverence for the movie Logan,” Levy remarked in an interview with Variety. He also stated that “Logan is canon” and added, “We love Logan. That is what occurred. I want the audience to know that as producers and directors, we all have a profound love and respect for Logan, every component of how it’s made, and every event that occurs.”
‘Deadpool’ Release Date:
After making his debut in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, the character quickly became a fan favourite as the studios put their trust in Ryan Reynolds. The first ‘Deadpool’ film was released in 2016, and it made a lot of money for the studios, who extended it for more episodes. The release date of the current ‘Deadpool 3’ film has been revised twice. The picture was originally scheduled for September 6, 2024, but it was then moved back to November 8, 2024.
