Television is one of the strongest medium of Entertainment in today's generation. The prime-time slot has been acquired by many Television serials and the TRP race continues. The year 2017 witnessed a plethora of new shows. Almost 30 new shows were launched in the first half of the year. Most of them replaced the older ones without changing the time slots. Many bagged controversies and were later slammed by people. So let's take a look at the top 5 Television serials which went off-air with some reason.

1. Beyhadh: The serial Beyhadh starring Kushal Tandon, Jennifer Winget and Aneri Vajani in the lead took us to the dreadful world of Maya. Jennifer Winget's portrayal of Maya garnered appreciations and awards too. The serial became a hit within no time. The first episode of Beyhadh was premiered on 11 October 2016 while the last episode was premiered on October 27, 2017.

2. Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi: Dev and Sonakshi aka Shaheer Sheikh and Elena Fernandez entertained the audience with their cute antics and a strong content. The serial was spiced up with the supporting characters like Supriya Pilgaonkar, Jagat Rawat, and Moon Bannerjee. The serial had two seasons. The first one was aired on February 29, 2016, to August 24, 2017. They soon came with the second season which aired from September 25, 2017, to November 2, 2017.

3. Naagin 2: Mouni Roy as Naagin left her charisma on the hearts of the people. After the first season went on to rake the highest number of TRPs, Ekta Kapoor came with the second season. The second season starring Kinshuk Mahajan, Karanvir Bohra, Sudha Chandran and many others apart from Mouni was premiered on October 8, 2016, to June 25, 2017.

4. Pehredaar Piya Ki: Tagged as one of the most controversial serials in the history of Television, Pehredaar Piya Ki faced backlash right from its announcement. The serial revolved around the marriage of an 18-year old girl (Tejasswi Prakash) to a 9-year old boy (Affam Khan). Many thought that the serial promotes child marriage and hence was made to shut down. The show aired for just a few days and premiered on July 17, 2017, to August 28, 2017.

5. Chandra Nandini: Chandra Nandini was the big Hindi drama series and the love story of Chandragupta Maurya of the Mauryan Empire. Rajat Tokas and Shweta Basu Prasad starred in the lead role. The serial aired on October 10, 2016, to November 10, 2017.
