1. Tenali Rama: Tenali Rama aired on Sab Tv is the mix of history and comedy. The tales of Tenali Rama have been narrated to us by our grandmother but bringing in on Television was a big task in itself. Tenali- known for his wit in the court of emperor Krishnadevaraya is played by Krishna Bharadwaj while Manav Gohil plays Krishnadevraya. The show is very popular amongst kids and adults too.

2. Porus: Having a budget of ₹ 500 crores, Porus is the most expensive Indian Television show based on King Porus. Aired on Sony TV, the show stars Laksh Lalwani as Porus. With a stellar star cast, Porus is created by Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik Productions.

3. Shani: Colors' mythical show Karmaphal Daata Shani made a decent debut as it bagged the sixth position in the TRP ratings. Shani offers something different in terms of storyline and concept. Mythology combined with supernatural elements seems to have worked in the favor of the show. It starred Rohit Khurana as Shanidev.

4. Aarambh: Aarambh: Kahaani Devsena Ki is an Indian Historical fiction show aired on Star Plus. Written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame the show revolves around the rivalry between Aryans and Dravidians. It aired from June 24 to September 10 this year. Rajneish Duggal starred in this serial after a successful film career.

5. Peshwa Bajirao: While the film Bajirao Mastani went on to become a huge hit, Peshwa Bajirao premiered on Sony TV from January 23 on weekdays to August 21 this year. This historical period drama gave us a glimpse of Martha warrior Peshwa Bajirao's life but failed to impress the audience.
