Kapil Sharma slammed for making ‘obscene’ jokes on nurses Kapil Sharma slammed for making ‘obscene’ jokes on nurses Source : Press Kapil Sharma, a stand-up comedian and his famous sitcom show on Sony Television may get into a legal trouble after ample of nurses and medical students in Amritsar registered a police complaint against him blaming that the nursing profession is portrayed in an ‘obscene’ way on his show. As per the media reports, nurses claimed that Kapil Sharma portrays their profession in a cheap way. They said that he was usually seen signifying that nurses were of “loose character” and “easily available”. The popular comedian, Kapil Sharma, who hails from Amritsar, was making a fun of medical professionals in his show. Punjab Nursing Association President Raj Bedi, who was leading the objection, visited the police station outside the hospital and comply a written complaint against Kapil Sharma demanding registration of a criminal case against the actor, comedian. Raj Bedi, also criticized Navjot Singh Sidhu, BJP’s Rajya Sabha member from Amritsar for being part of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. He asked, “How can Sidhu be a part of the show like this that humiliates someone’s profession? He keeps laughing at pranks made about the medical profession, which includes doctors, even his spouse Navjot Kaur Sidhu is a doctor. The protesting nurses from Amritsar also objected to the uniform which the actress Rochelle Rao wears, who essays the character of a nurse on the sitcom show. However, the makers of the show had informed the audiences on the very first episode itself that all the characters in this show are purely fictional. The characters on the show repeatedly talk about how they don’t know their jobs, and that’s where the comedy comes from. This is a comedy show, and it is not meant to be taken seriously.
